Frequently asked questions

Is this product vegan?

Yes - this formula is vegan, with no animal-derived ingredients, and is certified cruelty-free. Our formulations are also free of parabens, mineral oils, sulfates, and silicones. We manufacture in the UK and use high-quality, plant-based ingredients inspired by Cowshed's British spa heritage.

Does this product contain parabens?

No, our full range is free of parabens and mineral oils. Cowshed products are vegan, sulfate-free and silicone-free. We are also gluten-free and certified cruelty-free.

Is this product sulfate free?

Yes, all Cowshed bath and shower gels are both sulfate-free and silicone-free. We use an amino acid cleansing system that gently cleanses the skin without stripping natural oils, helping to maintain balance and support overall hair health. This helps respect the skin barrier and are suitable for daily use. Our formulations are also vegan and free of parabens and mineral oils.

Is this product suitable for sensitive skin?

This formula is designed to be gentle and skin-respectful, using naturally derived ingredients, amino acid cleansers, and botanical extracts that help support the skin barrier. We don't use any sulfates or silicones to ensure our products are non-drying. However, as with all skincare, we recommend checking the full ingredient list and carrying out a patch test if you have known sensitivities.

Is this shower gel gentle enough for daily use?

Yes - these shower gels are designed for daily use and are both sulfate and silicone-free. The amino acid cleansing base creates a softer, more skin-respectful lather than traditional sulfate formulas, helping to cleanse without disrupting the skin barrier. Skin feels refreshed, clean, and comfortable after every use.

Are the fragrances synthetic or natural?

Our original fragrances were inspired by the walled garden at Babington House in Somerset. Each scent is designed to deliver a sensorial experience, from the calming lavender & eucalyptus of Relax, made for moments when everything feels a little too much, to the energising lemongrass, ginger, & rosemary of Active. Across the range, our formulas are designed to be both effective and considerate, using amino acid cleansing systems, moisture-locking complexes and UK-grown botanicals to support healthy, balanced skin. We blend both natural and synthetic fragrance ingredients to achieve consistent, high-quality scent performance. From the heart and soil of Somerset to your door.

My daughters recently took me on an overnight stay at The Ned and they use Cowshed products in their room and in the spa. I was hooked and immediately I got home I ordered them for my home. Now I can feel that luxury every day. More expensive that ordinary but worth that special feeling that I think we all deserve.

Lovely fragrances and the products look fabulous in my bathroom.

Wish came with a pump alternative

What is going on with the packaging designs right now? Looks supermarket quality and not premium at all.

Hi Stephanie, Thank you for your feedback. As part of our recent refresh, we updated our packaging with new illustrations inspired by British botanicals, while keeping familiar details like our black caps and range colours. We’re sorry the new look hasn’t been to your taste, but we really appreciate you sharing your thoughts! Lizzie @ Cowshed

The product seams a little thin compared to previous items

Lovely fragrance and skin feels good after use

Great fragrance and skin feels good after use

Loving it. Quality soap and smells excellent.

Another great smell Andie leaves a smooth feeling on dry skin.

Great smell and very smoothe and gentle on my skin. Left it feeling smooth

Absolutely love this only need a small amount and smells divine

My favourite shower gel.

Product wonderful as always however in this delivery there was a very strong scent in the box and on the bottles that was quite overpowering and detracted from the more organic and subtle nature of the product itself. Bottles still smell strongly of it.

Lovely body wash that smells great and keeps your body feeling great too.

Lovely body wash that smells great and your skin feeling lovely too.

Lovely - I've been using your hand wash and hand-cream for some years now after being taken to Shoreditch by one of your members ages ago! Happens I also live in Somerset! Thank you.

Beautiful product my skin feels amazing now

Excellent for hls, gym, swim bag etc. Small size perfect with a gorgeous little bag all of their own, lovely girlie gift, if I can keep the hubby of them!

Love this product, first experienced whilst I was at Soho house and have used ever since.

Gorgeous, refreshing and uplifting shower gel that makes you feel like you’re on holiday!

Cowshed products are lovely to use and I’ve bought my latest for presents. The items I’ve received were very well protected for posting so theres no problem with bashed items- many thanks.

Smells and feels great

Gorgeous smelling with a luxurious feel… but it is quite pricey!!

Lovely refreshing scent.

Love ❤️ this the smell is amazing and value is good. Smart design 👌
Got this for my sister in law so quite excited about it😀xxx

Love the fragrance and the new look is a nice change, the only complaint I have is that the bottle is very hard to squeeze if you have arthritic hands - can you please put a pump with it rather than having to pour/squeeze.

Great quality and the fragrance is just perfect

Absolutely love this fragrance - fresh & deliciously elegant.

Hice but the fragrance is very weak

Had this on subscription for years but just received my first bottle with the new branding and it doesn’t smell like the same product. Before it was a really clean smell and now it smells smokey and more woody. It’s not terrible but I loved the old scent. Been trying to change the product in my subscription but looks like I’ll have to cancel and start again so gonna go to the house to see what the others smell like since the rebrand because I don’t want to risk another 500ml!

Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback! We understand your concerns about the scent change and will be in touch soon regarding your subscription options. We appreciate your support. Lizzie @ Cowshed

Great and wonderful suprise

Great as always but a pump would be useful
