Does this hand cream leave a greasy residue?

No. Although our Hand Cream has a richer texture than our Hand Lotion, it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving hands feeling greasy or sticky.

Are hand cream and hand lotion different?

Our 50ml Hand Cream has a richer, more luxurious texture. Made with British marigold and shea butter, it helps nourish and soften dry hands and comes in a pocket-sized tube for care on the go. Our Hand Lotion has a feather-light texture and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. Enriched with elderflower extract, it comes in a larger pump bottle for everyday hydration.

What does the Restore hand cream do for dry hands?

Mint, geranium, and thyme bring a soft, garden-fresh scent, while the richer formula deeply nourishes and softens dry, overworked skin.

Is this product vegan?

Yes - this formula is vegan, with no animal-derived ingredients, and is certified cruelty-free. Our formulations are also free of parabens, mineral oils, sulfates, and silicones. We manufacture in the UK and use high-quality, plant-based ingredients inspired by Cowshed's British spa heritage.

Does this product contain parabens?

No, our full range is free of parabens and mineral oils. Cowshed products are vegan, sulfate-free and silicone-free. We are also gluten-free and certified cruelty-free.

Is this hand wash sulfate free?

Yes, all Cowshed hand washes are both sulfate-free and silicone-free. We use an amino acid cleansing system that gently cleanses the skin without stripping natural oils, helping to maintain balance and support overall hair health. This helps respect the skin barrier and are suitable for daily use. Our formulations are also vegan and free of parabens and mineral oils.

Is this product suitable for sensitive skin?

This formula is designed to be gentle and skin-respectful, using naturally derived ingredients, amino acid cleansers, and botanical extracts that help support the skin barrier. We don't use any sulfates or silicones to ensure our products are non-drying. However, as with all skincare, we recommend checking the full ingredient list and carrying out a patch test if you have known sensitivities.

Are the fragrances synthetic or natural?

Our original fragrances were inspired by the walled garden at Babington House in Somerset. Each scent is designed to deliver a sensorial experience, from the calming lavender & eucalyptus of Relax, made for moments when everything feels a little too much, to the energising lemongrass, ginger, & rosemary of Active. Across the range, our formulas are designed to be both effective and considerate, using amino acid cleansing systems, moisture-locking complexes and UK-grown botanicals to support healthy, balanced skin. Cowshed is absolutely gorgeous stuff. Paying for quality and its produced in the UK which is refreshing. My husband asked if there was an aftershave cologne with mint geranium and thyme!!!! Maybe oneday?

Not as moisturising as I was expecting. I use the hand wash, which is great, but I did not feel the hand cream was as good. The biggest issue, for me, is that I really dislike the scent. I tried to persevere as it is an expensive product but the scent is too unpleasant for me.

Iâ€™ve been buying this hand cream for years. Itâ€™s very moisturising for my dry hands but soaks in easily and is non greasy. It represents excellent value for money especially when on promotion

I'm 77 and was given this Restore hand cream as a present. It's wonderful. My hands stay soft all day. Fingernails are stronger and smoother. So much so that I am rubbing it on my dry and splitting toe nails too, and after a few days there is a great improvement!! You don't need much and it's going to last ages. Fabulous product.

Restore is my absolute favourite hand cream ever and this is a wonderful size to put in my bag so that I have it work and when out and about.

The best!

I first bought some of this in lockdown and now won't buy anything else. Hands down the best hand cream I have ever used. It is the only one I have found that truly is non-greasy and it leaves my hands feeling so soft. It smells amazing too. Well worth the money I wouldn't be without it.

I generally love Cowshed products but had not yet tried their handcream. It is fabulous nurturing and restorative without being greasy

Enjoy this lotion and it's one that I buy regularly.Â The lotion has a nice smell that's subtle pleasant and not overwhelming.Â I think a lemongrass smell.Â My hands get very dry and this lotion is helpful in keeping hands moist.
