Frequently asked questions

Is this candle vegan?

Yes, this candle is vegan and certified cruelty-free. It is designed with high-quality, plant-based ingredients inspired by Cowshed's British spa heritage.

How should I care for the candle?

Trim the wick to approximately 5mm before each use. Burn for no more than 4 hours at a time. Allow a full wax pool to form on first burn. Keep away from draughts, children, and pets.

What is the burn time?

Approximately 40 hours, offering long-lasting fragrance and consistent performance.

What is the wax made from?

Our candles are made using a carefully balanced wax blend, developed to deliver both a high-quality burn and a refined fragrance experience. The wax is designed to hold and release scent evenly, allowing it to gently fill the room from first light to last. It also supports a clean, even burn, helping to minimise tunnelling while maintaining a smooth, elegant finish throughout the life of the candle.

Who is the Refresh range for?

Ideal for anyone looking to elevate their everyday hand care. Perfect for desks, handbags, or kitchen counters - anywhere dry hands need regular hydration throughout the day. Our hand lotion is a light, fast absorbing, silicone-free, vegan lotion.

Is this hand wash suitable for frequent use?

Yes - the gentle, sulfate-free formula is designed for regular hand washing without drying the skin. We use an amino acid cleansing system that gently cleanses the skin without stripping natural oils, helping to maintain balance and support overall hair health. This helps respect the skin barrier and are suitable for daily use. Our formulations are also vegan and free of parabens and mineral oils. Ideal for busy kitchens, bathrooms, or desks where hands need constant care.

Is this hand wash sulfate free?

Yes, all Cowshed hand washes are both sulfate-free and silicone-free. We use an amino acid cleansing system that gently cleanses the skin without stripping natural oils, helping to maintain balance and support overall hair health. This helps respect the skin barrier and are suitable for daily use. Our formulations are also vegan and free of parabens and mineral oils.

Is this shower gel gentle enough for daily use?

Yes - these shower gels are designed for daily use and are both sulfate and silicone-free. The amino acid cleansing base creates a softer, more skin-respectful lather than traditional sulfate formulas, helping to cleanse without disrupting the skin barrier. Skin feels refreshed, clean, and comfortable after every use.

Is this product suitable for sensitive skin?

This formula is designed to be gentle and skin-respectful, using naturally derived ingredients, amino acid cleansers, and botanical extracts that help support the skin barrier. We don't use any sulfates or silicones to ensure our products are non-drying.
