No, our full range is free of parabens and mineral oils. Cowshed products are vegan, sulfate-free and silicone-free. We are also gluten-free and certified cruelty-free.

Is this product sulfate free?

Yes, all Cowshed bath and shower gels are both sulfate-free and silicone-free. We use an amino acid cleansing system that gently cleanses the skin without stripping natural oils, helping to maintain balance and support overall hair health. This helps respect the skin barrier and are suitable for daily use. Our formulations are also vegan and free of parabens and mineral oils.

Is this product suitable for sensitive skin?

This formula is designed to be gentle and skin-respectful, using naturally derived ingredients, amino acid cleansers, and botanical extracts that help support the skin barrier. We don't use any sulfates or silicones to ensure our products are non-drying. However, as with all skincare, we recommend checking the full ingredient list and carrying out a patch test if you have known sensitivities.

How quickly does this body lotion absorb?

This body lotion is lightweight, fast-absorbing and non-greasy, designed to sink into the skin quickly without leaving a heavy or sticky residue. Ideal for everyday use, including mornings when you need hydration without the wait.

Regretfully writing a subpar review here following the new ingredients refresh. What was once a thick long lasting scented lotion now is a very lightweight and weak smelling moisturiser. Sadly it has lost the luxurious feel it once had and is now comparable to an off-the-shelf Nivea / other low cost mildly scented body moisturiser. The cowshed lotion was always known for its strongly scented and thick texture that has now been lost in the refresh. No longer will you be able to detect a ‘cowshed’ user or Third Space gym member around London from the weaker scent.

Has massively changed since the rebrand. What was once delightful and rich barely leaves a trace of smell. Such a a shame…

Active Body Lotion is actually really good, the lotion sinks into the skin and leaves no greasy deposit, skin is nourished and soft, the scent of the plants is seriously fresh and invigoration, totally perfect.
The only drawback for me is that I ordered the larger size and it is really difficult to squeeze the lotion out unless one turns the container upside down and use 2 hands to squeeze, then one does not have a free hand to put the lotion onto to apply, shame.
But lotion is great.

I am in my 80's and my skin needs all the help I can get! This is by far the best body lotion I have ever used. It applies easily and makes skin feel healthy and well(no mean achievement) ! It has a clean delightful odour and I cannot ever see me reverting to any other product.
