After our October post gave you insight into how to use Wonder Balm, we wanted to celebrate the many ways in which this one stop pot can be integrated into your routine. The bestselling Wonder Balm is our solution to cluttered shelves (we’ve seen your Shelfie Sundays…) Here’s seven ways to make the most of your Wonder Balm.
After the bank holiday sun had us all reaching for sun cream, we decided a refresh on SPF products was in order. In the spirit of optimism we’re hoping there’s many more sunny days in store for us this summer, yet come rain or shine, sunscreen is always a skincare essential. With protection against UV rays and blue light, our SkinCeuticals collection protects your skin from damage. Long gone are the days of ghostly white, sticky creams that never seemed to rub in; sun protection has developed considerably in recent years, with more focus being given to creams that can be used daily to not only protect the skin but perfect it as well.
By now you likely have heard all about how life-changing hyaluronic acid is. Since rising to prominence on the skincare scene in the past few years, we haven’t been able to get enough of the moisture molecule. If you’re at a loss here, you can learn all about the cult ingredient here. In the simplest terms, hyaluronic acid is an ingredient prized by hydration seekers and dry skin sufferers; it is hydrophilic, so it attracts water to the skin and delivers that dewy look we all crave. In honour of this beloved molecule we have created an edit of our favourite products that feature hyaluronic acid.
To coincide with the arrival of our new CBD treatments, we created two new drinks to make your spa experience even better. Our new Lavender and Shroom Lattes are our way of re-imagining a classic. With the arrival of Spring and freak flashes of sun, hail and everything in between, our skin is working overtime to adjust. We turned to Jess Sproson, the Cowshed Educator and Training Manager, to identify our top picks for calming the skin and mind as the season changes. Here's what she had to say:
"This lightweight moisturiser helps to soothe and calm the skin, targeting any persistent redness. Intended for day and night use, the cream is ideal for any Rosacea skin types. It contains a smart NeuroMed Complex that is designed to calm the nerves under the skin, which when aggravated cause redness or Rosacea on the skin."
An Introduction to CBD
CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a naturally occurring compound found in the flower of the cannabis plant. It’s a relatively new addition to the beauty landscape, but CBD has garnered a lot of attention. The saturation of CBD products in the market, as a result of the emerging trend, can make it difficult to navigate. Fear not, we’re here to help you demystify CBD. But first, a clarification is in order: CBD is a safe, non-addictive, non-psychoactive compound that research is discovering may have many potential benefits.
Author of Sunday Times bestselling book Parenting The Shit Out of Life and founder of Flex Appeal – a campaign to fight for flexible working for all - Anna Whitehouse aka Mother Pukka talks about postpartum beauty and why a catseye flick is not crossing the line.
The first (and last) ever beauty vlog I did was called ‘How Not To Scare People With Your Face’. The basic premise of it was cobbling together a vague look in 60 seconds with a toddler hanging off your left leg – quite the challenge if you’re attempting a catseye flick. Either way, I had come to the realization that phrases like ‘this look will take you seamlessly from day to night’ and ‘a slick of neon yellow eyeshadow’ just didn’t wash on the nursery run. So with a make-up bag that was once brimming with versatility, I ended up with three items: Benefit’s concealer for dark circles, NARS orgasm blush to make it look like I might have some life in me and – somewhat punchily – Tom Ford’s Liquid Liner.
Having never considered that feline flick because of the sheer skill it requires, the beauty director at Stylist magazine where I was working at the time told me to give Tom Ford’s pen a go. One steady slick across my sleep-ravaged eyelid and I was sold. In 10 seconds my eyes were crow-barred open and as the tiredness got more intense, the flick heightened like some sort of exhaustion graph.

'I’ve spent the past 20 years working in a media agency, mostly client service and media planning. I’ve loved every minute but have always been searching for an idea good enough to take a chance and start something for myself, to afford me the flexibility and freedom around my family.'

'I spent over five years working in busy creative roles in music, marketing, management and events, and became acutely aware of the physical and emotional impact of these hectic industries and stressful job roles. Yoga and Holistic Therapies have always been a part of my lifestyle so in 2016 I made the move into the wellness industry, starting with massage therapy, yoga and meditation to help redress my own balance, and now I love helping others find theirs. Over the last few years I have continued to grow and develop my skills specialising in Holistic Massage Therapy, Reiki, teaching Yoga, Mindfulness and Meditation.
